Laila
Yasmine Jones recently joined this newly opened Montessori school of
excellence in 2009. Her sister Mira also joined her this year. They are
getting to know the place quickly and the teachers are getting to know
Laila and her sister. They are experiencing Laila in a new setting, but
they have worked with her before at the Montessori Island School.
Wherever Laila goes it means Down Syndrome awareness is spreading! And
that's a good thing.
Lori Boscoe has been facilitating the FKDSET for a year now in it's efforts to help children with Down Syndrome learn to survive in the water and maintain physical fitness. Alysia Lopez was the first of FKDSET's fund applicants to complete a swim program with coach Carol. Alysia and Carol will team up again in the next few months to see where her new found skills will take her. We are hoping the Olympics someday!

TESTIMONIALS
"Let
me tell you, this girl is the best behaved girl in my class, she sits
right on circle, she holds her hands behind her in the line, she always
cleans up after she eats and puts away every piece of work she gets out,
everyone loves her, she's the most popular girl in class and she really
is a behavioral role model." Penny Tugwell, Senior Montessori
Directress, 3-6, Montessori Island School, Tavernier, Florida.
