FEBRUARY 2010 DONOR NEWS UPDATE
Donor Wear With All Boutique, a re-sale and top designer women's clothing boutique upstairs at the Tradewinds Plaza, Key Largo donated $500 worth of high quality new and re-sale items to the Florida Keys Down Syndrome Educational Trust.

Linda Nelson brings years of industry style savvy with her to the Keys. She opened her doors at the commonly known Publix shopping center, just prior to one of the toughest economic periods the Keys have seen and is holding her own, despite the rough times, is able still to afford donations to community groups.

Recently Nelson became a resident of Key Largo, along with her now famous dog, Bentley, who was featured in the newspaper the Reporter, last week, with his owner, Nelson, who donated $90 to the Humane society of the Florida Keys.

Nelson, like many supporters of the FKDSET is of the mindset that says in times of struggle the best way forward is to dig deeper.

"It is the only way to make things better," she says. Nelson seems to have found her niche, with a growing list of clientele from Ocean Reef to Key West and even Europe, her customers hope she's there to stay.

JANUARY 2010 DONOR NEWS UPDATE.
Donor Blue Marlin Jewelry gave a $250 check to the Florida Keys Down Syndrome Trust this year. Armando Gonzalez's picture was in the Reporter paper last month, showing him handing over the check to Laila Jones, a 4 year old Down Syndrome child in Key Largo. She handed it over to her mother, Nada Khalaf-Jones the co-founder of the FKDSET.
"We are highly grateful for this donation, the largest single cash donation yet from an individual in the Keys. It started with a casual comment in the school reception area. And, like a barracuda, I decided not to let Armando forget what he'd said, but it turns out I didn't have to worry, he was a man of his word," says Khalaf-Jones who recalls the scene, with a large group of parents who were inspired by Gonzalez, who said he for one would stand up for the rights of Down Syndrome children.                                         Armando Gonzalez hands $250 to Laila Jones

"The heart seems to direct the head in this exceptional individual, thank You Blue Marlin Jewelry, from the children of the Florida Keys who will make use of these funds over the years to come, their lives will be improved by what has been given," says Khalaf-Jones.
